The short version

  • VoidStream is a player for media sources you already have. We do not host, sell or provide any films, channels or playlists.
  • We keep what we need to run your account: your email address, profiles, devices, the sources you add and what you watch, so it follows you between devices.
  • We never sell your data, show ads or track you across other apps and websites.
  • Usage and viewing analytics help us improve VoidStream and are never collected for kids profiles. Crash reports are on unless you turn them off.
  • You can delete your account at any time. We erase it after 30 days, or straight away if you choose.

This summary helps you read the policy. The full text below is what applies.

Who we are

VoidStream LLC, an Oklahoma limited liability company at 362300 E Old Hwy 64, Cleveland, OK 74020, United States, runs VoidStream and is responsible for your personal data (“we”, “us”).

This policy covers the VoidStream apps, voidstream.tv and docs.voidstream.tv. If you have a question about it, write to privacy@voidstream.tv.

What we collect

We collect only what VoidStream needs to work for you, plus what you choose to share with us. The table lists all of it.

The data we collect, what it is for, whether you can leave it out, and how long we keep it.

PurchasesTo give you what you paid for: the plan and the store’s order or receipt reference.Only if you buy somethingAs long as tax law requires

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or any advertising identifier. Payment card details go to the app store or payment provider you pay through, never to us.

Your media stays between you and your sources

When you play something, your device connects directly to the source you added, such as your own Plex or Jellyfin server or your IPTV provider. That source receives your device’s IP address and the login you gave it, and its own privacy policy applies.

VoidStream does not route your video through its servers and does not see the pictures or sound you watch. We do know which channel or title a profile starts, because that is how your history, progress and favourites work.

Why we use it

  • To provide VoidStream: your account, profiles, guide, library, playback, updates and sync between devices.
  • To keep it secure: sign-in protection, rate limits and investigating abuse.
  • To support you when you write to us.
  • To improve it, from usage and viewing analytics, and from crash reports you turn on.
  • To meet legal obligations, such as keeping records of purchases for tax.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, our legal bases are: our contract with you, to run your account; our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and in understanding and improving VoidStream, for analytics; your consent, for crash reports; and legal obligations, for records the law requires.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that run parts of VoidStream for us under contract, such as our hosting provider and Cloudflare, which carries traffic to our servers and protects them from attack. They may use it only to provide their service to us.
  • The app store or payment provider you buy through, to process your purchase.
  • YouTube, only when you play a trailer. Trailers play in YouTube’s own player, which receives your IP address and applies Google’s privacy policy.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it, or to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights.
  • A buyer or successor, if VoidStream LLC is ever sold or merged. This policy would continue to apply to your data.

To fill in film and series details, our servers ask The Movie Database (TMDB) about titles. Those requests contain nothing about you.

How long we keep it

  • Your account, profiles, devices, sources and viewing history: for as long as your account exists.
  • When you delete your account, it closes at once and is erased 30 days later. Sign in during those 30 days if you change your mind. You can also choose to erase it immediately.
  • Raw analytics events and crash reports: up to 30 days.
  • Security records: up to 90 days. Raw IP addresses kept to investigate abuse: up to 7 days.
  • Backups: they expire within 30 days, and any deletion is applied again before a backup is ever restored.
  • Purchase records: as long as tax and accounting law requires.
  • Reports that no longer identify anyone may be kept for up to 13 months.

Your choices and rights

  • See and change your details in the app or on voidstream.tv.
  • Delete your account in the app or on voidstream.tv.
  • Turn crash reports on or off at any time in the app’s settings.
  • Object to analytics by writing to privacy@voidstream.tv.
  • Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, restrict or object to its use, or move it to another service, by writing to privacy@voidstream.tv from your account’s email address. We answer within one month, or 45 days for requests under California law, and may need to confirm it is you.

If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you can also complain to your data protection authority. If you are in California, know that we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.

Children

A VoidStream account is for adults: you must be 18 or older, or the age of majority where you live, to create one. An account holder can add kids profiles for their family. A kids profile holds only what the account holder sets up and its own watch history, and analytics are never collected for kids profiles.

We do not knowingly create accounts for children. If you believe a child has created an account, write to privacy@voidstream.tv and we will delete it.

How we protect it

We protect your data with encrypted connections, one-way hashed passwords and PINs, encryption of the logins you give us for your sources, strict access controls, and passkey sign-in for our staff. No system is perfectly secure. If you find a problem, tell us at security@voidstream.tv.

Where your data is processed

We run VoidStream from the United States. If you use it from another country, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States. Where the law requires it, we use appropriate safeguards with our providers, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we also tell you in the app or on voidstream.tv before it takes effect.
